First Week Update

It's hard to believe Elayne is already over a week old.

This week, she has opened her eyes more (still a gray blue), become more alert at feeding times, really latched on to the pacifier band wagon, and has finally learned how to use her cry to signal the need for food.

I am not sure I'm fully prepared to do this whole parenting thing on my own during the week. It's been great having so much help and I know it'll take a little bit of time to adjust to being on my own. I'm sure we'll get into a nice routine, but it's still scary.

We have had so many wonderful visitors this week and I'm sure we will continue to have them. But it will be nice to start getting into a routine with Phillip working and me staying at home and working on school work.

Yes. Did I mention I started classes last Monday? Baby born on Friday, classes started Monday? Star student right here. I have to keep my 4.0 GPA! ;)

P.S. I'm so ready to feel good enough to start working out. I've already lost 8.5 pounds since I went into the hospital. 7.5 left to get to pre-pregnancy weight, and an additional 15-20 after that to reach my "goal weight." Let's do this! Well... as soon as I've finished recovering...
