This Christmas will be one for the record books.
It snowed! Not only did it snow, but it was the coldest day of the season and the snow stuck for a good 24 hours. At the house in Argyle, we got about 3-4 inches. In Bedford, we got about 1-2 inches.
We spent Christmas at the "Big" Long's house. We knew it would be chaotic with driving back-and-forth and with our parents living so close to each other, we knew logistically it made sense.
Here is a rundown of our holiday:
Monday
Phillip opened his "big" present from me at the house before we left. He got a huge Craftsman rolling toolbox. It would have been too big to carry to Bedford and haul back. So he opened it early. I got to open my iPad case early too! What a great gift! Phillip went to work and I spent the evening with his family. We went to church with Tabo, ate delicious soup for dinner, and opened presents as soon as Phillip got back from work.
Tuesday
Santa Claus held back Monday night in order to psych out Phillip. He got his "big" present from his parents that morning - a Nexus 7 tablet! That's what he really really wanted. After breakfast, we traveled to my parents for more family time. We had dinner at my grandparents' and awaited Samantha and Jeremy's arrival while watching the snow fall heavily. My parents also got a bluray player and surround sound combo from us kids. My dad got my mom Fiestaware to complete her place settings to 12! What a great husband. I also got some great news I couldn't wait to share with everyone. See next post for details. :)
Wednesday
A relaxing day of shopping, spending time with family, and such. Phillip worked. My mom also made her famous Christmas dinner. Every year she likes to make something special. It isn't a traditional Christmas dinner. Instead, she buys an expensive cut of meat she wouldn't any other time in the year, and makes a great steakhouse-like meal for the family. Always delicious!
Thursday
We returned home after Christmas with Tabo, and unloaded all of our gifts and Murphy. My exciting news was confirmed and I was able to tell Phillip and the rest of the day telling everyone else. Dinner with the Galloways followed. See next post for details.
So a great Christmas!!
I hope you had a wonderful Christmas too!
