Weekend Adventures and Loads of Overdue Pictures

I know it’s been such a long time since I have produced a blog entry. Things have been so busy and I was out of town. Sorry for not giving a heads up, bloggers, but a surprise birthday party was involved. Anyway, I’ll bring you up to speed and post the daily pictures I took.

Friday

I had my candidate orientation. I was so nervous going in, but felt better as the day progressed. It was three hours long – which seems boring, but it was so informative and I am even more convinced that this job is something I would absolutely love doing. When I got home, within an hour, they called me back for the walking interview (aka phase three of roughly six phases of the interview process)!!! Heather also came in town for Chinese food and a family night. Tons of fun. :)

Saturday

I packed my bags and got into the car with Phillip and his parents. We were Austin-bound to surprise his cousin, Ben, for his 30th birthday at a brewery there. The surprise was a success and I got to play a little bit with their beautiful baby. Afterwards, we went to New Braunfels to stay with the Harkins. Randy was in a BBQ cookoff at Sea World in San Antonio, so we ventured out to spend a little time there and walk the grounds. That’s what the second picture is of – their BBQ trailer. Then it was back to New Braunfels to spend the night.

Sunday

What a long but fun day!! We ate breakfast at a place called the Red Rooster. Then it was off to shop at the outlet mall in San Marcos! We shopped until we dropped! I got some perfect tennis shoes for my walking interview today (yes, I was told to wear walking shoes!!). Phillip’s mom got a Coach bag for a ridiculously great price! After leaving, we stopped by Ross and a shoe store for more shopping – I got a suit for my interview this morning too. After stopping by Pluckers for dinner with Heather in Austin and a few other stops on the way home, we finally got into town at 10:30. And what was on my bed waiting for me!? My Century Club window decal and plaque tag (the actual plaque will come in the mail later)!! It means I have donated to Texas A&M’s Former Student Association and am a contributing alumni. Yeah, I know it’s fancy.

Today

I just got back from my walking interview a little while ago. I think it went well and now it’s all up to them. I was myself and feel like I answered all of the questions well. I will find out tomorrow night whether or not I will be making it on to the next phase of the process. I am really liking this opportunity and would be thrilled to be offered the job. I am quickly falling in love with the company and what I could do with them. Please, pray I get it!! Here is a picture of my nice dress suit with walking shoes.

My pictures each day need to start including people in them. Sorry guys… Maybe one day when I get the fancy front-facing iphone 4, I’ll be able to provide more to you. Until then, enjoy pictures of my hands, feet, etc.
