Last night we took our engagement pictures. I think it went well. It was pretty awkward to have someone hold a camera in your face and tell you to act natural or kiss each other. And when they tell you to just carry on normal conversation, it’s funny what you come up with to talk about. Haha. It was an experience but I bet we came out with some good ones. I’ll definitely post a couple when we get them back. We went to a hotel, bridge, and park in Dallas. I bet he took a couple hundred pictures in so many different ways and places just in those three spots. He was so resourceful! I really hope we can get him for our wedding.
After our pictures last night, we headed to Boston’s to eat dinner with Phillip’s parents. We got there and had a good meal, went out to the car to leave and noticed Phillip’s car door handle had been busted and the window was smashed in. Apparently someone decided they needed his book bag for school, assuming there was a laptop inside when (to their dismay) there was only a few spirals and a textbook. I feel like it was all my fault, though, since I had that bag out right before we went inside and failed to fully toss it in the back seat. Hmph. It’ll be a day’s worth of work on Monday for the window, and probably a few days to a week for the car door.
On a lighter note, I bought my dress today! They took my measurements, and I got to put it on again – this time for a long time! They had to take length measurements. Since my gown is from Allure, that designer takes a length measurement to make a custom length. This means I won’t have to spend $200+ on the hem for alterations – hemming that dress would mean taking it apart at the bodice, taking it up, and sewing it all back together. I wore my veil again too and bought it. It’s so beautiful. For that custom length measurement, I had to get shoes too, so I went ahead and bought an adorable and oh-so-comfy pair from the bridal salon. They are almost flats but are raised an inch with a slight wedge and have a peep toe. So cute. I’m also getting them dyed sapphire blue!!
I also picked up my bridesmaid dress for Samantha’s wedding today – it is so cute and soooooo comfortable. I can’t wait to wear it at the wedding and several times afterward.
P.S. Happy birthday to my wonderful friend, Manda!! I love you so much and hope you have a wonderful day! :)
