Tonight is simply a lazy night filled with watching the Academy Awards. I like seeing tid-bits of movies I need to see. So far the main one I need to see is “The King’s Speech”, though I’ve wanted to see it ever since I saw the first previous.
As far as entertainment value goes, it’s not exactly loads of laughs, but still worth watching. Sorry for the boring entry. I needed to deliver my photo of the day.

That’s the total number of people we are inviting to the wedding. That’s a big number! We have been planning for 250 to actually show up, but it could be more (or less). I can’t wait to see the RSVPs start coming in to be able to envision the day even more than I already can. We will certainly fill out that chapel quite nicely.
The bridal shower RSVPs are starting to come in as well. I can’t help but feel, as this great day approaches, that we are so loved. So many people are wanting to know all about us – from the color scheme of our first apartment to the timeline of the big day to what jewelry I might be wearing. It’s crazy – and I don’t even have the answers to half their questions!
They say when you get married that you are the center of attention. I admit, I enjoy this spotlight from time-to-time. However, I don’t know if I am fully prepared to be the cornerstone of planning for about a week straight – in addition to other times for events, such as the shower. I am beginning to become an expert at answering five questions from three different people all at once.
As I have said for the past three months or so, things are getting crazy. I would even venture to say that we are in peak crazy mode and will not cease until June 12th. Be prepared to witness all of the excitement as the blog entries become more and more engulfed by wedding planning and festivities.

Today was soooo busy! I guess I’ll give you a rundown, since I am sure you are interested…
We ate lunch at Lucille’s in south Fort Worth. It was phenomenal! Probably the best lunch I have had in a very long time. A marinated sliced chargrilled chicken sandwich with jalapeno dressing spread – delicious! I must go back so I can taste even more wonderful things on their menu.
Next was a trip to Bargain Town. What a fun outing! This place was filled to the brim with furniture and wall décor. I really enjoyed walking up and down every aisle talking about how much I wanted all of the cute and reasonably priced things. I’m sure if we were in the market for a couch or dining room set, we would have walked out with great deals!
Cheaper Than Dirt was next on our list. For those of you who aren’t away, it’s a huge store filled with everything gun-related. From ammunition to vests to holsters to guns. It was filled to the brim with everything you could possibly want when it comes to guns. It did get a little boring once Phillip started deciphering through the boxes of bullets. But other than that, it sure was a sight to see. Who knew there was so much to consider when taking on that hobby? My favorite thing in the store had to be all of the creative targets. From Osama Bin Laden to clowns to squirrels – whatever you need to take your frustration out on, they had it.
We rounded out the busy day at Ross and milkshakes at Steak ‘n Shake. I also got to eat dinner later with Phillip and Josh at JR’s Grill and finished with some dessert wine with my parents and the Morrisons. What a great Saturday. I had such a great day. This is why I wanted to get back home from college so quickly. This is what I was missing and was homesick for. I can’t wait to have more days/nights like this one.
Oh and tomorrow, my mom is planning to make pancakes for breakfast. And the Oscar’s are on tomorrow!

Aunt Betty’s mom suddenly went to the hospital last night so Uncle Jerry and her drove in the middle of the night down to Conroe to see her. Therefore, our meeting was postponed. That’s alright though, we can reschedule. I’ll keep you posted on all of that.
Phillip and I were going to have lunch with his parents anyway, so that’s still happening. But afterwards, instead of driving down to Waxahachie, we are going to a furniture store his mom has heard about. It’s supposed to be beautiful pieces and décor – at low prices. I’m hopeful. We are in the market for a bed frame, you know. And we are getting a new place soon, you know. Just thought I’d remind all of you readers.
Sipping on my coffee now and enjoying the morning. I will jump in the shower soon to get ready. I’m thinking today is going to be a good and fun day. Phillip also gets off work tomorrow. So I am changing that to this weekend is going to be a good and fun weekend. I am going to try to hold back all of the worries about the uncertainties in my life and just enjoy the weather and the company.
As a side note… I need to try my wedding dress on again. I keep meaning to, but the timing has never been right. I haven’t seen it on since December and that is entirely too long.

Yesterday and today were super productive in the wedding area. After posting that long to-do list, I realized that I needed to get a move on. So here is the rundown.
Yesterday we went to Men’s Wearhouse to put together the tux order. Basically, we chose everyone’s attire and made a huge list of people. Now they just have to go in a get fitted by the beginning of May. Easy as pie.
Today we ordered the blue backing paper for the invitations and picked out the white paper. As soon as the blue comes in, we’ll be ready to assemble. Until then, we need to buy the white paper, do all of the printing and cutting. Then assemble the ribbon design on the top of all of the invitations, and finish glueing all of the handmade paper. Phew! About 3 weeks to get all but the blue paper finished. Totally doable. I’m just going to be one busy bee this next week.
Tonight it’s dinner with Grace and tomorrow is our first day of pre-marital counseling. I’m not worried, but kind of anxious. I don’t really know what to expect and am hoping for smooth sailing.

After months of searching for the perfect room, we finally booked it! We didn’t want a room that was over-the-top expensive because we’ll only be there for like 7 hours. But we still wanted a special hotel that’s not one you’d stay in every day.
The A Loft hotel in downtown Dallas. That is our selection. We booked the standard king room last night. It’s a cool loft-like hotel that’s gorgeous and close to I45 so we can jump on it the next morning to drive to Galveston for the cruise. I’m getting back on the ball with all of this wedding stuff. I swear, I could be a wedding planner when all of this is said and done. I’m basically putting this whole wedding together – with vital input and some help from others. But I’m the one keeping track of the schedule, to-dos, vendor communication, and so much more. I’m running this show.
And of course, I figured I’d let you in on all that is going on in the wild world of wedding planning. So here is the breakdown of what I will be doing for the next six-ish weeks:
To-Do ASAP: book ceremony music, get my passport (Friday), book wedding night hotel room, visit some wholesale florists for centerpiece estimates, purchase all of the remaining invitation pieces, and finish the invitations.
To-Do As Soon As I Get A Job: wedding party gifts, my wedding day accessories, hostess gifts for all of the events that will be thrown in my honor, wedding rings, final dance dress, all event outfits, order table runners, and Phillip’s wedding gift.
To-Do by March 11th (3 Month Mark): meet with the officiant (Saturday), decide on centerpieces, groom/groomsmen tuxedo order and accessory decisions, research newspaper wedding announcement details, finalize the wedding guestlist (95% complete as of today), design rehearsal dinner invitations, and decide on the ceremony order.
To-Do by April 11th (2 Month Mark): print seating cards, finalize bridesmaid accessories, print rehearsal dinner invitations, print table numbers, finalize wedding favors, dress fitting.
Wow. My head is spinning just thinking about all there is to do – especially by March 11th. I will get it all done though. I will!! The big thing stressing me out at this point is finding a job to pay for that not-so-tiny list that needs money to be completed. Wish me luck!!

We have moved our wedding from 6:00pm to 5:00pm. Crazy, right? Note that the countdown will change as of this entry to reflect this huge change.
Why did we change you ask? Well, today we went to the Ballpark to discuss centerpieces and a few logistics. Kind of a planning check-up with them. It was extremely helpful and we had a lot of success with finding the perfect glass products for everything we needed.
We discussed the wedding day timeline. I don’t know what I was thinking! With the way we had things planned, we would be rushing around like crazy after the ceremony for pictures and would have limited time on the field to take pictures. Not to mention, we wouldn’t have very much light to even take pictures on the field. This corrects those oversights and makes things all better. Hooray!

Yesterday’s picture centers on the life changing salad at BJ’s brewhouse. Phillip and I went there for dinner last night. Delicious!! This salad changed my life a couple of years ago and it sure didn’t disappoint this time either. Yumm!

Saturday in Austin was fun. Heather and I went shopping and kind of hung around. For dinner we went to Trudy’s for their famous Mexican martinis. They were delicious!!
Yesterday’s picture was less than fun. It’s just a picture of my suit case. I came back in town yesterday. Since then I have just been hanging around with Phillip. I’m still sleepy from my long nights for the past 4 days.
Today I had lunch with Phillip and gave the deposit to the florist. We found out that this really cool violinist has an opening for a ceremony on June 11th. I’ll let you know how that goes.
Sorry these entries have been pretty boring lately. I have been so busy and basically only have time to get down the basic details and my daily pictures. Look forward to a more thoughtful entry in the future. Thanks for staying loyal!

I finished up my wonderful trip in College Station yesterday. I had a great time with my friends and I missed them terribly. Tabitha and Grace each got new sectional sofas. I am so jealous. They are beautiful and comfortable.
I mean, don’t get me wrong. I LOVE my couches. But it was hard to see brand new comfy sectionals. Phillip and I’s future apartment wouldn’t be able to fit a sectional at all. But still. I’m happy for them and happy to sit on their comfiness every time I go down to College Station. I just figured I’d share.
Last night we went to Sagras in Austin, which is a super nice wine and Italian place. It was good! We then saw No Strings Attached at the Alamo Drafthouse and ended the night with BYOB putt putt. Super cute picture-of-the-day.
Heather and I are about to head to the mall to see if we can find anything good to buy. Then it’s dinner later on and who knows what else.
I do miss Phillip a whole bunch.

I sure did miss my friends down here. It’s hard seeing the world I was once a big part of and the world I’m in now. It seems like ages ago, when it has only been 2 months. Weird.
I know. I know. I know. Taking pictures while driving is not safe. I am not proud of my actions. But I will say that no one was on the road, I was on cruise control, and took the picture without even looking at the screen. I needed to give you my picture of the day too.
Tomorrow I’m heading to Austin to spend time with Heather. I’m enjoying this break from the Bedford boredom during the days. I miss Phillip, as always, but it’s nice to have things to do during the day and have friends that are begging to hang out with me.

400 posts ago, I started this blog. I feel like I was sporadic with entries until Phillip and I got engaged. From then on, this blog has taken off! I’m not sure how few many readers there are out there actually paying attention to these posts, but I’m up to at least one post a day (on average). That’s incredible!

I am really bad at painting my toenails.
And my feet look really weird in photographs.
Today was so busy! I emailed a violinist, started setting up an appointment with the Ballpark, answered two emails from our photographer, hammered out a rough wedding day schedule, called about hair and make-up appointments for the wedding day, and my mom got her dress ordered. I also worked on more invitations – bringing our grand total up to 57 with backings glued on.
Phew. What a busy day. I also did laundry, cleaned, and packed. And that was just since I woke up this morning. Tomorrow I’m off for a relaxing four day weekend. Monday starts another extreme job search week, making intense progress on invitations, and getting my passport.

Yesterday was Valentine’s Day. Phillip and I already celebrated Saturday night, but we still got to spend time together last night as well.
We went to the new Bedford Public Library. It was so beautiful and wonderful. We got library cards too. I checked out two books. Doesn’t this sound super fancy of me??
We also went to Red Brick Pizza. I kind of love that place. It’s nothing special, but the pizza is good and there are TVs in each individual booth. Plus, it’s BYOB! I did not know this until last night when I was reading the front window. How did I not know this before!? Loving it even more!
Today has been filled with wedding planning. I have been going and going like crazy for 3 hours now! I have so much done. I sent about a million emails. Plus, I have finished address lists, emailed them out for parents to look over, and called a hair and make-up place. I’m ready to schedule appointments as soon as I hear from all the ladies who are interested. Yay!
Laundry, cleaning, and more invitation making is on the schedule for today. Getting things done feel awesome!!

Last night was wonderful. Phillip and I went on a date to Bostons. Not romantic to most, but for us it was perfect. We talked a whole lot and had delicious food – who could ask for more!?
Today my mom and I went to Grapevine Mills, and her dress selection she pretty much made yesterday was confirmed. We looked at all of the options and we’re convinced yesterday’s dress is meant to be. But mom did find the perfect shoes and was able to buy them! I am so excited for her to be stunning and everyone seeing how great she’ll look.
Phillip’s parents got me an apron for Valentine’s Day. It is super cute – and today’s picture of the day.
Tomorrow will be a day filled with watching Army Wives, possibly seeing what the new Bedford Library is all about, possibly start painting the Long’s bathroom, and who knows what else.

I got a hair cut this afternoon! This is a big deal since it has been months since I last chopped any off – and months since my last bang trim. So I have noticeable bangs again too!
Phillip and I are celebrating Valentines day tonight instead of Monday. A couple of years ago we ended up waiting like 2 hours for a table somewhere and it was kind of miserable. We vowed from then on that if we wanted to go out to celebrate, we were celebrating earlier or later.
We always do a good job for Valentines day. We aren’t the couple that thinks it’s nothing more than a Hallmark holiday and we aren’t the couple that drowns each other in millions of roses to prove a point. Nope. We use this holiday as an excuse to go out on a date and spend time together. We celebrate his birthday, my birthday, and our dating anniversary the same way. This is kind of the midway point between seasons of celebrating, so I like to get into a little more.
Oh and today I think my mom and I found the dress she is going to wear to the wedding! Tomorrow we might do a little confirmatory looking (yes, confirmatory is a word… my proof is the lack of a red squiggly under the word after I typed it) just to make sure we’ve seen all of the options. I’m excited! It’s a beautiful dress and she is going to be one stunning mother-of-the-bride. Yay!

I can’t believe it’s already this far along in the countdown. The wedding is so close now! I have 4 more months to finish planning, live with the last name “Galloway”, and get ready for all of the wonderful things this new chapter in my life is going to let me experience.
Today we official booked Buffalo Wild Wings for our rehearsal dinner. Is it fancy? Certainly not. Expensive taste? Nah. But it is going to be perfect. It’s so us. That whole week leading up to and the weekend of the wedding is going to be crazy. It will be really refreshing to have our rehearsal dinner somewhere that’s simply, no-fuss, and relaxed.
Phillip and I also went and looked at an actual apartment unit today! We looked at them a few weeks ago, but didn’t get to actually see a unit. Today we did – and even got to look at the actual floorplan we want! Each unit is priced individually, so we have to kind of wait around for an email saying something is available in our price range. But it’s very promising and our top choice for our future residence. Take a look (today’s picture of the day).
I have so many other things I need to do today but all of a sudden I was just hit with a wave of laziness. Hm. I still need a job, by the way.
I will be heading down to College Station and Austin this next week and into the weekend. I’m too excited to see all of my friends and Heather. So there will likely be a gap in entries. But fear not, I will still be taking 365 Project pictures.

Phillip and I finally picked up the outside layer of our invitations this afternoon. And today, I started the long journey of assembly. This will be a huge task but I’m confident I can finish them and make them so stunning. Once I finish this first phase (hopefully by next week some time), we will move into the printing and cutting phase, and then finally into the final phase of assembly.
My goal is to have them finished by the middle of March, since at that point we have to start addressing envelopes for the invitations to be mailed by the end of April. These are going to be so gorgeous and perfect. They already look so professionally made and beautiful. I can’t wait to see the final product and to see our vision complete.
Then of course, after all of the invitations are complete, programs, rehearsal dinner invitations, menu cards, escort cards, and table numbers will need to be done. Oh and thank you notes will need to be completed in the coming months. Who knew so much paper was involved in wedding planning?

Shabby Blogs has been warning me for weeks now that the old layouts were going to expire and how I should find a new background and blah blah blah blah blah blah.
Well this morning when I woke up to a completely bare blog, I was in shock. How could this be? So I did what any respectable blogger would do, I changed the layout ASAP. Ta-da!
Yeah, that was a boring post, but I figured you’d be wondering if you visited this blog to suddenly see a different color scheme and design. You’re welcome for the update since I’m sure otherwise you would have lost sleep over it.

Yesterday and today get three pictures. Each depicts something I’m going to talk about to keep you all informed.
I am still on the mend. I’m done with the flu but still have mucus and a pesky cough resulting. So I’ve been Mucinex-ing it up to try to finally kick this thing once and for all. And it’s much better than the drowsy nasty cough syrup.
It snowed again last night and today. This time I was bound and determined to make a snow man. I missed the mounds of snow we got last Friday since I was sick, so today I decided I was going to make a snow man. So here you have it. As Phillip would say, it’s our snow alien, complete with grape eyes and a candy cane-induced pink smile. And by me making the snow man, I actually mean Phillip. I didn’t have gloves and he did. So he rolled the snow while I watched and searched for the essential accessories.
We signed our wedding cake contract! The deposit was sent a while back, but today it’s officially signed and the date reserved. We will have a phenomenal wedding cake with really unique and delicious flavors. I love how unique it’s going to be!
In other news, I may have found another very promising housing option for Phillip and me. We’ll have to head to the complex and look around and talk with the leasing office but it has the potential to be perfect and exactly what we’ve been looking for. I’ll keep you posted!

She is still just as precious as ever. My mom loved holding her too. We oohed and awed for a while before Manda left with her bridesmaid dress and Jaquelyn.
For those of you gasping at me holding a three week old baby while down with the flu, rest assured. I am all better! I’m still finishing up the Tamiflu that messes with my appetite and have that annoying residual cough. But I am back!!

After surfing the internet, I found a really cool website. It’s pretty much a goal website where you can list out all of your goals for the next 1000 days (about 3 years). I made one for Phillip and me. I figured I’d share. The list isn’t nearly completed yet – we have so many goals we will be adding. Well, an unfinished one, but still one. I need to add some embellishments but soon it will be exactly what I have envisioned. I know, most of you are thinking about how simple it is. But you also don’t know what the cake will look like. This will work perfectly with the design and I can’t wait to see it on top and taste the cake below.
My mom and I made this decision quite easily yesterday and it really surprised me. We saw it, liked it, and bought it within 5 minutes after I’ve looked elsewhere for a while. I guess it’s time for decisions to be made that quickly. It’s time to start a “wedding pile” somewhere in the house. This is getting real. We only have one more deposit to give and one more contract to sign. Then it’s easy sailing from here on out.
I also have a fun announcement only for you bloggers. Originally the plan has been for Phillip and I to wear our wedding outfits the entire night and leave in them. Well, we have now decided to change early before leaving. It will make logistics so much easier. So guess what I get to do!? Find another pretty dress for the exit!!
Why is this so important? I mean, tons of girls have leaving dresses, right? Well, ours will be a little different. Our DJ does a private last dance for us, which is really special. We will have a last dance in front of everyone, then go into the suite to change while all of our guests file out to get organized for the send off. Then, Phillip and I will go back into the completely empty reception room for a private last dance just for the two of us. The only other people in the room will be our DJ and photographer. I think it will be some of the most magical pictures we will have from the night. See why this dress is suddenly more important?
I’m not looking for another wedding dress by any means. I love my dress!! But I need a nice, elegant, and formal second gown to make sure all of my pictures are stunning – instead of just the ones in my wedding dress.

As promised, here is my picture-of-the-day from yesterday and from today. Yesterday’s photo pretty much shows you the view I’ve seen for the past three days. Today’s photo is a picture of where I’ve spent the past three days.
As I told you yesterday, these are boring pictures. Basically, it’s because I’ve been pretty boring. Thursday, Friday, and today have been pretty miserable. However, the good news is that I think I’m on the downside of the flu. I have managed to pretty much miss three days of my life, but once I’m feeling 100% better, I’ll be grateful for the fact that I was able to get over this quicker than usual because of how much time I devoted to laying in bed.
I missed a fabulous snow day. I think that’s the worst part. It snowed 4 inches yesterday morning and I missed it all. I haven’t left my house since Thursday night. I wanted to make a snow angel, or even just walk around in it. Hmph.

Yep folks. I have the flu. I have some intense coughing fits in the works. When I went in to the doctor, my temperature was 102.6! Crazy high!
So now I am over at Phillip’s house so he can keep me company. He’s playing games on the xbox and I’m laying in his bed on my laptop. I’ll probably doze off into a nap here pretty soon. I get my medicine around 3:30 or so. Until then, I will try to rest and ignore the symptoms.

Literally. I have a fever. When I woke up it was 102 and now it’s down to this lovely 101.7 number. I am going to the doctor as soon as possible – can’t make an appointment until they open at 10.
I knew all night that I was probably running a temperature. I had chills, but not due to the cold. And my throat is so incredibly sore. It’s making me cough and gag and all that fun stuff. I’m really hoping that whatever it is, that there is a magic pill that will clear it up ASAP.

That’s right guys. It’s not happening. The picture below (today’s picture) illustrates what I am about to say next.
I didn’t get the job at HMR. I was so pumped and felt really good about it, but I didn’t make it to the next phase. I appreciated the nice phone call to let me know. But, it wasn’t nice to hear that I had a pretty perfect interview and was exactly what they wanted – but they couldn’t hire me because I have no work experience.
So now what? How do I find work experience when no one is willing to hire me? I’ve almost exhausted all of my options. That’s two dream jobs now that have escaped from me. Two jobs that strung me along for too long, only to decline me at the last minute. I’m tired of being almost good enough for these jobs. Does that mean I’m almost cut out to be a Health Educator? Does this mean I need to reconsider?
I’m not trying to give up, but I feel like something’s gotta give. It’s back to the drawing board. Back to finding more options. Back to writing millions upon millions of cover letters. Back to chasing a job that will hopefully pay enough for Phillip and I to have our own place come June.
Sorry for the debbie-downer entry. I just needed to vent. Starting fresh tomorrow. Hopefully something great will come up… Hopefully…

Well yesterday was the first snow day. Everyone got to stay home and cooped up in the house. There wasn’t much hustling and bustling. Roadways and driveways were frozen solid. All of the snow was laying on top of thick sheets of ice. And today it’s not any better.
So today is the second snow day. Everyone is home again. No work. No school. And no leaving the house. I’m getting cabin fever and wanting to get out of the house. But alas, as I type this, I am covered in a blanket and relaxing in the recliner.
HMR did not call me last night, as planned. I am trying not to read into it since I’m sure it’s because their offices were closed yesterday. So I’m kind of hoping they’ll call today, but don’t expect a call until tomorrow. She made it sound like they’ll call either way – if they want me to move on or not.
Everywhere last night was closed. Phillip and I went to eat dinner. We drove past Chilis – closed. Then Firehouse Subs – closed. Taco Bueno – closed. We finally got to eat at McDonalds, with all of the TXDOT workers. Staples, Lowes, Target, EVERYWHERE was shut down by 8:00 last night! The road conditions were that bad. Roads are empty. This city is empty. Therefore, more cabin fever can be observed.
The snow is still here. The ice is still here. And I am still here. Sitting in my house. I need to get out of here, but the roads are too icy and the temperature is too cold. The windchill is –1 degrees right now and expected to get down to –15 tonight! Crazy frigid!
Well, I suppose I’ll occupy my time by taking a shower. Blegh.

It SNOWED all last night! Look what I got to wake up to this morning.
So the rest of the day will be spent snuggling up with a cozy blanket. Both of my parents and everyone else in this area had class and work canceled. Except my brother. :-/
Enjoy the snow and be safe! The craziest part of this system is not the snow but the fact that there is tons of ice under that snow and the bitter cold. It will not even come close to freezing until at least Friday afternoon. So this may not go away. Stay warm everyone! I know I will.
